Microsoft continues to refine power-saving features in Windows 11. In recent insider builds for Dev and Beta channels, user phantomofearth discovered a hidden "Adaptive Power Saving" feature that automatically enables energy conservation based on current PC tasks, battery level, system load, and other factors. This functionality is linked to the recently introduced "Windows Health and Optimized Experience" service.
Windows Insider Senior Program Manager Brandon LeBlanc confirmed Microsoft is working on this feature. He noted it's currently not functioning properly, which is why no official announcements have been made about its existence.
However, if desired, you can forcibly enable the feature using the ViveTool utility. This works in builds 26120.4441 (Beta) and 26200.5651 (Dev), as well as newer versions.
cd /d <folder path>
, then press Enter. Example: cd /d "C:\ViVeTool"
.vivetool /enable /id:56401475
and press Enter. To disable the feature, use this command:
vivetool /disable /id:56401475
