Microsoft has released a new Windows 11 preview build (version 24H2) numbered 26100.4482 (KB5060829) for Windows Insiders on the Release Preview channel.
Full build number: 10.0.26100.4482.ge_release_svc_prod3.250616-2033.
- Default Apps:
Microsoft is implementing minor changes to the "Set Default" button for browser defaults, specifically for users in the European Economic Area (EEA).
- New default browsers will now automatically register additional file types and protocols they support.
- The new default browser will be pinned to both the taskbar and Start menu unless manually unchecked.
- Added a dedicated button for quick PDF viewer association when supported by the browser.
- Start Menu:
- The Configure Start Pins policy now includes a "First Login Only" option, allowing users to modify their pinned items after initial admin-configured setup. Available via Group Policy and Configuration Service Provider (CSP).
- Taskbar and System Tray:
- The taskbar now automatically resizes icons when crowded, preventing overflow menu activation. Configure via: Right-click taskbar > Taskbar Settings > Taskbar Behaviors > "Use small taskbar buttons".
- Accessibility tools in Quick Settings now include descriptive labels for screen readers.
- Redesigned attention indicator for taskbar apps is now more visible.
- Fixed Quick Actions responsiveness in the top third of upper-row buttons.
- Restored WIN + CTRL + <number> window switching functionality.
- Resolved media control flickering in app previews.
- Share Feature:
- Added link previews when sharing web content.
- Replaced 0-100 scale with preset image compression options ("High/Medium/Low Quality").
- PC Migration:
