Microsoft has begun testing a unified game library in the Xbox app for Windows, which will now display games installed from Steam and Battle.net.
Xbox Insiders will gain access to this feature as early as this week, with a full public release planned before the end of 2025. The unified library will also be available on new gaming devices, including portable ROG Xbox Ally consoles.
"When players install games from supported PC stores, they'll automatically appear in both the 'My Library' section of the Xbox PC app and the recent games list on the sidebar - making it easier than ever to jump back into your games," explains Manisha Oza, Xbox Platform Product Manager. She noted the Xbox app will expand support for additional third-party stores over time.
Users can customize their unified library experience through the Xbox app settings under "Library & extensions," where they can hide games from specific third-party stores if desired.
To test the unified game library early, download the Xbox Insider Hub from Microsoft Store and join the PC Gaming testing program.
